A Dance on the Page
As a professional dancer and teacher I enjoy freedom of movement and expression. Therefore it feels natural to me that I create my pictures as an initial swirl on the page.
It’s a spontaneous process that enables the picture to reveal itself unexpectedly. I rarely know what the picture will be until I see it within my pencil promenade. That’s why I call them A Dance on the Page.
I use a selection of art materials such as coloured pencils, felt tips, pastel crayons, paints and inks to colour my pictures. I particularly enjoy utilising circular shapes and gold. Sometimes I receive an intuitive message or phrase while creating, and these often become the picture’s title.
